Our Insit Moulded Packaging (IMP) blog will be written by individual employees and authors from around our business sharing their thoughts, ideas and industry knowledge. We promise to keep our blog posts relevant, opinion based and ensure they are current to what is going on in the world around us.
So let’s start by sharing some facts about IMP and our journey as a business.
Our office is based in Wiltshire, a county in South West England known for its chalk white horse hillside carvings, delicious cured ham but most famously, for one of the world’s most famous prehistoric monuments, Stonehenge!
IMP has been in the packaging industry for over 40 years and we’ve seen first hand the development, growth and exciting technological advancements made in the evolution of packaging. Product packaging plays a crucial role in commerce and trade by not only preserving and protecting goods, but by also offering visceral cues that affect consumer perception of the product or service, which can heavily influence consumer behaviour.
IMP’s intent has always been to provide our customers with high quality packaging designs and we do this through a combination of innovation, world class design software and an enthusiastic and passionate team. Market and industry research play an integral part to our offering to continually ensure we meet the needs of our customers. As a result of our extensive research, we are able to offer our customers bespoke protective packaging designs that maximise space, reduce waste and allow safer handling of goods.
So what makes us different from our competitors you ask? We pride ourselves in becoming the first UK packaging company to have invested in Catia V5, a 3D design software that enables us to create rapid and more accurate prototypes from design proposals and drawings. This in turn positively reduces our carbon footprint by producing less waste and ensuring excess materials are recycled thus enabling us to provide a more environmentally friendly service. Take a look at our IMP Green Scheme to find out more on how we do our part to support sustainability and our ecosystem.
